Orkhon Khasu is a registered Associate of Cambridge Assessment International Education, part of the University of Cambridge. Through Cambridge International’s programme we prepare students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. The Cambridge Pathway gives students a clear path for educational success.
Over 10000 schools in more than 160 countries offer Cambridge programmes and qualifications.
Our school is implementing Cambridge International Curriculum along with Mongolian National curriculum. Through oue bilingual curriculum, we are aiming to increase mental processing capacity, improvement of memory, mental advancement, meta-linguistic awareness and enhancement of inter-cultural skills of each student.
PRIMARY SCHOOL (Grades 1-5)
The Primary curriculum provides opportunities to develop essential skills od our native language as well as English language, learn historical developments, and appreciate cultural values which focuses on cultivating their creativity, talents and abilities, and learning skills through students capabilities and eagerness to learn.
Primary students are divided into junior primary (1st-3rd grade) and senior primary (4th-5th grade)
For the 1st to 5th grades, students are taking 35- hour classes per week of which 19 hours are taught in Mongolian and 16 hours are taught in English.
SECONDARY SCHOOL (Grades 6-12)
The Secondary school students follow the Mongolian national curriculum and Cambridge programmes (Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint in grades 6-8; IGCSE qualification in grades 9-10, and Cambridge AS&A levels in grades 11 and 12).
For 6th to 8th grades, students are taking 40-43- hour classes per week of which 20-23 hours are taught in Mongolian and 20 hours are taught in English.
For 9th to 12th grades, students are taking 45- hour classes per week of which 15 hours are taught in Mongolian and 30 hours are taught in English.
CAMBRIDGE SECONDARY 1 CHECKPOINT
The Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint Program is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years (Grades 6-8) and develops learner skills and understanding in English, Mathematics and Science. It enhances the learning environment and provides excellent preparation for Cambridge Secondary 2 and other educational systems.
The Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint tests have been designed to assess learners in English, Mathematics and Science and give valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of education.
CAMBRIDGE IGCSE
The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is one of the most recognised qualifications around the world. Cambridge IGCSE is designed to be taught as a two year course for students aged 14 to 16 years (Grades 9-10). This provides knowledge and prepares the students for the next level of curriculum, Cambridge Advanced. At this stage, students can choose subjects based on their interests, talents, skills, and professions that they will choose to study in the future.
CAMBRIDGE AS & A LEVELS
Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) Levels are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. They are part of the Cambridge Advanced stage which is in alignment with the Mongolian 11th and 12th grade curriculum. Cambridge International AS Levels has half the content of the corresponding Cambridge International A Level and may be completed in one year. Schools can offer Cambridge International AS Level as a qualification in its own right or as a staged route to Cambridge International A Level by completing 2 years.
Cambridge International AS and A Level qualifications are widely recognised and valued by universities and employers alike. Some US universities give up to a year’s credit as a result. Every year, thousands of Cambridge International A Level students gain places at good universities worldwide – including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia. Three fair passes at ‘A’ level allows a student to skip a year in US, UK and Canadian Universities.
